Skylight Leak Repair in Irondequoit, NY

Skylight leak repair addresses water entry around a roof window, which is usually a flashing problem rather than a broken pane. Irondequoit, NY Storm Damage Roof Repair handles skylight work across Irondequoit, NY.

Skylights get blamed unfairly. When water appears around one, the glass or dome is intact in most cases and the failure is in the flashing kit around it or in the seal between the frame and the curb. Storms make this worse by lifting the head flashing or driving debris into the side channels where water then backs up.

Condensation is the other common cause, and it is worth ruling out before anyone starts cutting. Water that appears on cold mornings, sits on the inner frame and never coincides with rainfall is condensation, not a leak. The fix there is ventilation, not roofing.

Where it is genuinely a leak, proper repair means stripping the surrounding shingles and refitting the flashing kit in the correct order: sill first, then step flashing up both sides, then head flashing lapped over. Skylight leaks that keep returning almost always trace back to that sequence being wrong, or to somebody trying to solve it with sealant.

Hail-cracked domes and failed double glazing get replaced as units.
